Recognizing Kount’s impact on global e-commerce fraud detection and prevention, the Idaho Innovation Awards named Kount as Innovative Company of the Year at the annual celebration of the state’s leading technology organizations.
Initially built from the ground up to protect one of the most visited e-commerce and leading affiliate marketing sites on the planet, Kount provides a proven fraud solution designed to help any business operating online beat fraud. Kount CompleteTM, its comprehensive SaaS-based fraud and risk management platform, saved customers hundreds of millions of dollars in 2012 alone.
“Innovation doesn’t occur in a vacuum. Kount was born out of necessity, encouraged by a freedom to innovate and tackle a considerable problem faced by our sister company ClickBank,” said Kount CEO Brad Wiskirchen. “The same freedom to innovate that created Kount now enables our team to develop and implement first-of-its-kind, fraud-fighting products and features at a pace no rival can match.”
Kount’s focus on innovative R&D produced five new patents in 2012, resulting in a total of 25 patented or patent-pending applications related to cutting-edge fraud prevention and detection technologies.
A selection committee comprised of more than 30 leaders from Idaho's technology, business and academic communities evaluated the nominations. In choosing Kount as Innovative Company of the Year for 2013, committee member Dr. Charles Buck of the University of Idaho noted, “The selection committee was impressed with the breadth of innovative companies nominated for the award. Kount stands out with their success in obtaining new patents for their innovation and fostering a culture that invites and explores ideas from the team. They seem to have a lot of fun too!”
As the state's only innovation awards program, the Idaho Innovation Awards recognize innovative accomplishments in four categories: Commercialized Innovation, Early Stage Innovation, Innovative Company and Innovator of the Year. Stoel Rives LLP has organized and hosted the program since 2006 and presented the 2013 awards along with Kickstand and the Idaho Technology Council.
