As of October 13, 2013 there were over 3.5 billion websites indexed by Google, and there are more every day. Having their website found is an ever increasing problem. With the right internet marketing strategy even small businesses can be found. But most small to medium sized businesses are confused about online marketing.

On December 4th the Burnaby Board of Trade will host Ken Lapp, president of Standard Marketing from Vancouver, BC for their series final presentation, entitled “Gaining Traffic and Getting Customers - Effective Internet Marketing.” It will take place 8:00 am to 9:30 am at the Best Western Plus at 319 North Road. The event is free for members and Digital Skills Series attendees, but $10.00 for non-members.

“Internet Marketing is unique for three reasons,” says Lapp. “The first is that it’s all about people coming to you at the exact moment when they’re ready to buy. Secondly, it’s about creating a dialogue with your clients rather than pushing information on them. The third reason is that it’s 100% accountable. Companies can know exactly how much profit they made as a result of their investment.”

Lapp says Internet Marketing is actually very simple. There are only three steps:
1. Increasing the traffic to your website.
2. Getting prospects’ contact information.
3. Making the sale.
