BABTA Announces Date for the 2013 Holiday Gala Event & Auctions

The Bay Area Business Travel Association holiday gala event “Reach for the Stars” will take place on December 11, 2013.

The Bay Area Business Travel Association (BABTA) is thrilled to announce the date of the 2013 Holiday Gala Event the chapter’s largest gala fundraiser. The grand celebration will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 and is chaired by BABTA Board of Director Jenny McFarland and former BABTA VP Programs Joeann La Madrid. Title sponsors for this event are American Express Global Business Travel and Macy's Union Square.

The Gala will be held at the Argonaut, a Kimpton Hotel which is a boutique hotel in the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf, one of the city's most treasured destinations. This area attracted people from all over the world during the Gold Rush and serves as a beacon for international travelers to this day. We will be on the bay, next to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, including its fleet of historic ships. And all the city's sights and sounds are very close by. The hotel's original 1907 style architecture retains the nautical feeling of San Francisco in its heyday with our recently refreshed deluxe guestrooms and suites still offering one of a kind views.

The multifaceted gala features two concurrent events: The Gala Dinner, a gourmet style meal with a live auction; and The Cocktail Hour & Networking with a Silent Auction, a stylish social scene! The evening features live DJ entertainment by DJ is Dave Bossler with the Funktional Soul Band http://www.funktionalsoul.com which continues throughout the evening. BABTA will transform the Argonaut into a dazzling party space with surprises around every corner.

Proceeds from The Gala enable BABTA to provide over 1200 business community members and non-members access to locally held industry educational programs throughout the year via our monthly chapter events. Funds also help provide support to San Francisco based Bay Area Women and Children’s Center (http://www.BAWCC.org).
