Omaha, NE (PRWEB) November 05, 2013
Cosentry, the leading provider of Midwest Data Center Services, announced the commissioning of its newest expansion to the Omaha-Midlands data center. The Omaha-Midlands Data Center is one of the most disaster resistant and environmentally efficient facilities in the Midwest. The expansion was commissioned on October 1st of this year, and will effectively double the capacity of the data center.
“Due to overwhelming customer demand, expanding the Omaha-Midlands Data Center became a top priority for us. The need for highly reliable, secure and efficient data center facilities is a continuing trend here in the Midwest. And, we are proud that organizations across every major industry segment entrust their most critical asset, their data, to Cosentry every day,” said Jason Black, Vice President of Data Center Services for Cosentry. “In addition, demand for this facility has moved beyond the Midwest. Based on our superior design, low cost of power and favorable climate, customers from all over the US are seeking our services. We will continue to scale our centers and invest in Omaha to fulfill these demands.”
The Omaha-Midlands data center is a facility purpose-built to achieve security and resiliency. Not only is the facility locked down with biometric scanners and 24/7 onsite security, but the facility itself is able to withstand winds up to 250 miles per hour, with a roof built of several layers including reinforced concrete. In addition to the resiliency of the facility, this data center was also the first LEED Registered data center in the region, as well as the first to receive Energy Star Certification. These factors, as well as the facility’s power redundancy, have made the Omaha-Midlands Data Center one of the most sought after facilities for enterprise-level colocation and disaster recovery services in the region.
The Omaha-Midlands Data Center was originally built in 2010, with the prediction of future expansion. The expanded space is available now.
