Nuage Consulting Group Inc. was recently selected to oversee the move to NetSuite’s SaaS (Software as a Service) Retail Business Software for its newest client, lacrosse equipment and apparel retailer LAX World, which was purchased in August 2013 by a group led by former Jos. A. Bank executive Frank Barbarino, LAX World’s new CEO.
The project will involve the upgrading of LAX World's internal systems to expand the Cockeysville, Maryland-based retail chain's omnichannel sales effort, which goes beyond the traditional brick-and-mortar stores to include e-commerce and wholesale, as well as connections with social media and personalized shopping experiences through digital interfaces.
NetSuite provides the tools to support omnichannel efforts, ensuring that inventories remain accurate across all channels. "They were able to accommodate the workflow we were looking for without any modifications," Barbarino said of the deal with Nuage Consulting Group. "It was also a cloud-based system, so we didn’t need to purchase any hardware or software. We didn’t have to have an IT infrastructure."
LAX World's implementation of Nuage's solutions is yet another example of how more businesses could benefit from the cloud computing revolution, especially the ones who are just starting to develop an omnichannel presence. Barbarino notes that the deal with Nuage results in an increase in the end-to-end visibility of LAX World's business, as well as an improvement in efficiency and profitability for the company.
