AlertSystems Respond to CCTV after Alleged Armed Robbery in Scunthorpe
(PRWEB UK) 20 November 2013 -- The Scunthorpe Telegraph has reported on November 14 in the article ‘Police Release CCTV Image after Armed Robbery at Scunthorpe Store’ that police have released CCTV images after an alleged armed robbery at the Dhillioh Stores on Frodingham Road in Scunthorpe. According to the Scunthorpe Telegraph a police spokesperson has said that the incident, which occurred between 7:15pm and 7:45pm on November 8, saw a man enter the store in possession of a firearm. After placing a carrier bag onto the till, the individual asked a female member of staff for money. She placed the money into the carrier bag before the individual left the scene.
Alongside the release of CCTV images, police have released a description of the individual they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. He is described as being of a stocky build, and wearing a grey Adidas tracksuit with Adidas trainers. Additionally, he was wearing black leather gloves while a bright yellow mask covered his face.
The Scunthorpe Telegraph reports that a number of armed robberies have occurred in the area, although police do not believe that this most recent incident is linked to previous cases.
As experts in business security systems, AlertSystems closely follow CCTV-related news and were interested in the recent release of these images. A representative for the company offered their comments:
“An armed robbery can be a frightening experience for members of staff and while these incidences can be difficult to predict, having adequate security systems in place can offer reassurance to staff and customers.
Having CCTV in place can provide crucial evidence to police in their investigations, with police able to use the images to determine the course of events, as well as releasing the images to the public for help with the identification of individuals. This information can also help encourage witnesses to come forward with information.
Additionally, if similar incidences have previously occurred in the area, police can use the footage from the CCTV security system to determine possible similarities between the cases. As such, having a CCTV security system installed on your premises can provide police with vital information regarding the incident to help bring their investigations to successful conclusions.”
