Choosing Ideagen to provide this key system to Central Manchester clearly demonstrates that our solutions and services are an obvious choice in tackling the digital challenge set by the Health Secretary.
Matlock, Derbyshire (England) (PRWEB UK) 18 November 2013
Central Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust is deploying the innovative dart KnowledgeWorker (dartKW) portal content engine solution. This will be used to populate “Chameleon”, the electronic patient record system, developed entirely by the Central Manchester informatics team. With the use of dartKW the Trust will now be able to implement electronic medical records to bring all of their locations together into one comprehensive and electronic repository, and scan in the hundreds of thousands of iconic patient notes in circulation.
The software will allow clinicians to quickly view and update patient records on computers across the trust that oversees acute, tertiary and specialist healthcare services for the residents of Manchester, treating more than a million patients every year.
The innovative dartKW 4.0 system has been developed to integrate with all of the open source and custom portals being used in the NHS, and provide essential content such as digitised legacy notes, MS office integration, e-forms and workflow, seamlessly within an integrated carousel viewer.
Central Manchester aims to go live at the end of November, they will begin with two wards at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, before gradually moving on to the rest of the trust.
Ben Dorks, Group Sales and Marketing Director, comments “We are delighted to announce this new contract with Central Manchester University Hospitals Foundation Trust and look forward to working with them. Choosing Ideagen to provide this key system to Central Manchester clearly demonstrates that our solutions and services are an obvious choice in tackling the digital challenge set by the Health Secretary.”
Additionally, Central Manchester has adopted the OPEX scanners from Ideagen Plc. These unique scanners have been specifically designed for digitising patient records and deliver legally admissible, indexed images, 50% quicker than any other scanning process. Thus, ensuring that the hospital can meet the pressure of on-demand scanning and that historical records are available to clinicians when they log in to see their clinic list.
Ben Dorks, adds “The new software and Opex scanners will significantly reduce paper usage within the local NHS and is expected to have a return on investment within the year. There are improvements in efficiency, governance and audit, and with the carousel view clinicians can read the records with instant access online, in real time, at the point of need, with very little training required”.
