Scale integration is a new option for merchants using GiftLogic Point of Sale software. Using a compatible scale and GiftLogic POS software, merchants can seamlessly ring up items that are sold by weight such as coffee, bulk candy, deli items, and produce.

The spokesperson further explained how GiftLogic works for merchants. Merchants enter weight-based items into the system and assign the appropriate price per unit of measure. For example, a deli owner selling Swiss cheese by the pound would enter the item's name and description, select pound as the unit of measure, and enter the price per pound. When a customer purchases a block of Swiss cheese, the clerk would select the item as usual (either via touchscreen, scanner, or manual entry) and place the cheese on the scale. From there, GiftLogic automatically rings up the item with the correct price based on its weight.
