I would like to thank all those people in the community who have in the past supported Rotary fund raising events.
Bridgewater, NS (PRWEB) November 21, 2013
The Rotary Club of Bridgewater & District in Nova Scotia, has contributed $1,000 to
help desperate people in the Philippines who, as a result of the catastrophic typhoon
are now fighting for their lives and urgently need water, food, medicine and shelter.
Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres) has already dispatched thirty of its’ personnel to the region and the Rotary Club money (raised in this community) is being routed through that organization so it will automatically be eligible for the Dollar for Dollar matching funds from the Canadian government as announced a few days ago.
The Rotary Club of Bridgewater & District would like to challenge all other Rotary Clubs in Canada to meet or exceed this level of contribution. Corey Rogers President of the Bridgewater and District Club said “I would like to thank all those people in the community who have in the past supported Rotary fund raising events such as this summer’s golf tournament, and the Oktoberfest last month to name just two.”
Rotary worldwide comprises almost 1.3 million neighbours, friends and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and all around the world. Rotary has 33,000 clubs in over 200 countries.
