Our programmes are completely tailored around the apprentice and the employer, so apprentices can start at any time of year.

Local apprenticeship provider Skills Group were out and about as part of the ‘Are You Happy?’ campaign to let youngsters know that it is not to late to change their minds and embark on an apprenticeship scheme.
Many young school leavers set out on a course or high education in September, but then later decide they have chosen the wrong path. But help is at hand with Skills Group’s latest campaign, which shows that it is possible to change direction and get back on the right track.
Skills Group, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, has some of the best apprentice achievement rates of training in the region.
Mark Boulting, Skills Group Managing Director, said: “Our programmes are completely tailored around the apprentice and the employer, so apprentices can start at any time of year. We always have more than 100 jobs on offer and so we are recruiting 365 days of the year.
“Our recent research has highlighted massive growth recently from young people who have decided they would be happier earning money, whilst gaining the qualifications they need to get their dream job or career.
“For those young people who don’t want to stay at school but know they have to stay in education, an apprenticeship is perfect.”
Young apprentices joined staff from Skills Group in Plymouth’s city centre at the weekend to give first hand advice to youngsters who were themselves thinking of doing an apprenticeship.
