PlaSmart Inc. is thrilled to announce that Nick Metzler, inventor of the new three-dimensional board game, Squashed™, was voted Young Inventor of the Year at the 2013 Toy and Game Inventor (TAGIE) Awards held in Chicago, IL on November 22. Upon receiving this prestigious award, Nick was elated, saying; “Everyone should have fun every day of their lives. I can help make this a reality one game at a time.”

Nick Metzler, two time winner of the Chicago Toy and Game Fair’s Young Inventor Challenge, invented Squashed when he was just sixteen. An extraordinary young man from Orland Park, IL, Nick has created about twenty board and card games since the age of five. In 2010 he won the Young Inventor Challenge with his game, That’s Cheating, and in 2011 with The Cube, later re-named Squashed™. He is currently studying Business with an emphasis on Entrepreneurial Strategies at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

About Squashed™
“Squashed™ is a fantastic new 3D game that adds a new dimension to board games with its cubic shape and play option variety,” says Anne Leahy, CEO of PlaSmart Inc. As inventor, Nick Metzler, describes it, “Squashed™ changes the paradigm of board games by forcing players to think in three dimensions. Its very nature results in the cube being flipped multiple times, causing dramatic power shifts in the omnipresent race to the top of the cube. Play the game, think in three dimensions, and squash your competition out of the game!” For more information about Squashed™ and its inventor, visit http://www.SquashedGame.com
