Pentec Health, Inc.’s Nursing Skills Competency Course entitled, “Intrathecal Nurse Training Program,” has received accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC.) The program combines didactic instruction with one-on-one field training to confirm expertise in intrathecal pump management. No other intrathecal training program exists in the United States with ANCC accreditation.
“The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) is proud to recognize Pentec Health for achieving accreditation of its Intrathecal Nurse Training Program through the ANCC Nursing Skills Competency Program,” stated Kathy Chappell, MSN, RN, Director of the ANCC Accreditation Program, a global leader in healthcare credentialing. “When commercial organizations, like Pentec Health, voluntarily pursue this rigorous peer review, customers can trust their commitment to registered nurses and the patients they serve. Pentec Health demonstrates exceptional market leadership by holding itself to the highest possible global standards for skills-based courses.”
“Superior patient care is what has always set us apart. Our nurses just reached the next level. ANCC criteria are the gold standard in accreditation,” says Karen McHenry, RN, MSN, Vice President of Nursing Services at Pentec Health. “We are just thrilled! It was an absolute team effort over the past two years from our entire department.”
ANCC accredited skills competency courses validate a nurse’s specific skill for proficiency, safety and quality in a clinical setting. Pentec Health worked in conjunction with Widener University to achieve accreditation.
“We are elated because this ensures patients and medical providers that Pentec Health nurses maintain a higher set of standards and skills in delivering care to a specialized set of patients, specifically focused on intrathecal pump management,” says Joseph Cosgrove, Chairman, President and CEO of Pentec Health. “Nurses who complete the Intrathecal Nurse Training Program have an unmatched level of expertise, education and hands-on training. They are elite. Our patients deserve nothing less.”
