Boston, MA (PRWEB) December 02, 2013
Wellframe, a Boston-based company that combines mobile devices and artificial intelligence to amplify therapeutic relationships in order to engage patients in personalized care plans, today announced that the organization has been selected as a semi-finalist for the Merck | Heritage Provider Network Innovation Challenge. The challenge calls on organizations to create products or services that will support patients with diabetes or heart disease in adhering to their care plans. These products should draw on rich data sets to understand real-life behaviors or patients, and leverage the patient ecosystem to create novel methods for personalized support.
"At Wellframe, we’re combining our collective expertise in clinical medicine, engineering, data science and consumer engagement to make evidence-based care more accessible and more appealing. We have been very pleased to see patients and clinicians use the system in clinical trials to manage complex chronic conditions with extremely favorable results,” said Jacob Sattelmair, Wellframe CEO. “We’re thrilled to have this opportunity from Merck and the Heritage Provider Network – two organizations who share our commitment to improving care for patients in need.”
The Wellframe Platform features a rich mobile app for people with chronic disease that delivers personalized care plans as daily, dynamically generated to do lists. The app also enables HIPAA compliant two-way communication among patients and care managers. The clinician counterpart is a lightweight cloud-hosted EMR that provides insight into participants’ observations of daily living. The solution is scalable to any number of mobile devices, available on iOS and Android and is extensible to any clinical vertical.
