The Gabel Center, a private substance abuse treatment facility located in Fort Myers Beach, opened its doors this week, bringing high-quality, private treatment for substance abuse and trauma to the Southwest Florida area. Located on Estero Boulevard just steps from the beach, the treatment facility offers a tranquil and serene environment for clients and their families, whose addictions have taken a hold on their lives.

“The location was important”, says Jerry Bowling, The Gabel Center’s CEO. “We felt it was crucial to offer an environment conducive to healing and growth.”

The Gabel Center brings world-class addiction care to the Southwest Florida market, one that is currently underserved and has a significant need for this type of affordable addiction care.

It is not just aesthetics and location that set The Gabel Center apart. The center offers what they call an “Eco-therapeutic” treatment approach, with activities such as sailing and kayaking.

“This is not your typical drug and alcohol treatment”, says Evan Jarschauer, The Gabel Center’s Clinical Director. “We want to get our clients out into this amazing environment that surrounds us because there is a lot that can be learned from experiencing and interacting with that environment”.

In addition to treating chemical dependency, The Gabel Center places a significant emphasis on the treatment of trauma and related issues as they are a common underlying factor in chemical dependence. The Center has contracts with most insurance providers, and offers a variety of payment options for private pay clients.
