Family Life Radio’s annual food drive helped collect thousands of pounds of food for hungry households in November.
The non-profit ministry’s purpose was to inspire giving and sharing before the Thanksgiving holiday, Vice President of Ministry Evan Carlson said.
“It is a privilege to support organizations such as our local rescue missions as they are doing an incredible job of supporting our communities’ under served population,” Carlson said.“
We know that partnerships such as the Family Life Radio food drive will provide hundreds of people with the most basic of needs that we hope will not only fill their stomachs, but ultimately open their hearts to the message of Jesus Christ.”
The Gospel Rescue Mission in Tucson, AZ, a lifeline to the lonely and displaced in Southern Arizona, collected 3,196 pounds of food, Family Life Radio Regional Promotions Manager Steve Wright said.
In Albuquerque, NM, Family Life Radio partnered with Noonday Ministries for a food drive to help homeless and working poor before Thanksgiving. They collected more than 300 hundred pounds for food boxes.
In Phoenix, AZ, more than 200 pounds of food benefited families in the Gilbert area. Gilbert is a rapidly growing suburban community southeast of Phoenix.
In Florida and Georgia, Family Life Radio stations also accepted food donations for the needy.
