The key is to pick the right markets to compete in according to William Putsis, professor of marketing at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Putsis wrote his latest book “Compete Smarter, Not Harder – A Process for Prioritization through Strategic Thinking” as a guide to the process of considering which markets to compete in.
Putsis, a storyteller at UnleashWD in 2012, will discuss the book and strategies to compete in the right market during the webinar “Compete Smarter, Not Harder” at noon CT on Dec. 17.

Putsis teaches that choosing where and when to compete is one of the most important decisions that an organization must make. Hard work is important to success, but hard work alone cannot overcome competing in the wrong market.
