Four of the 50 recently named members of the Sales Lead Management Association’s (SLMA) Most Influential People in Sales Lead Management in 2013 are currently or previously associated with the Atlanta-based prospect development company PointClear. Winners include Dan McDade, PointClear president and CEO; and Karla Blalock, PointClear chief operating officer. Additional winners include PointClear alumni Nathan Remmes, director of business development and demand generation at NanoLumens; and Mike Surgen, sales manager at Dell SecureWorks.

The Top 50 was determined by the number of votes received by each nominee between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30. View 2013 Top 50 list.

James W. Obermayer, CEO and executive director of the Sales Lead Management Association, announced the winners on Dec. 5: "These people are champions of wealth who have given their time and expertise to the field of sales lead management, and are recognized by their peers for their leadership.” Obermayer added that “Dan and Karla consistently rank high on the Top 50 list. It’s not surprising their influence on former employees has helped create new creators of wealth like Nate and Mike,” Obermayer added.

“This is certainly an honor to be recognized for leadership in sales lead management,” said McDade, who has been among the SLMA’s 50 most influential since the program’s inception in 2009. “I appreciate the support of the entire PointClear team and the extended PointClear family in making this honor possible,” he said.

Blalock, who was on the list in 2010, 2011 and 2012, added, “PointClear, like SLMA, is committed to helping companies become successful in the critical business process of managing sales leads. It is gratifying to be recognized by professionals with similar goals.”

Both McDade and Blalock noted the inclusion of the two PointClear alumni on the SLMA Top 50 list. Nathan Remmes manages the inside sales team as well as marketing at NanoLumens, a large-format LED display solutions company based in Atlanta. Michael Surgen manages sales segments for large enterprise, health care and life sciences, global 500 and public accounts at Dell SecureWorks, a leading information security services provider also based in Atlanta.

Prior to joining their current companies, both Remmes and Surgen spent more than three years as senior associates at PointClear, generating and qualifying leads, and developing prospects for mid-sized to global Fortune 500 clients using proven best practices and sales methodologies.

“We are gratified to see our former employees succeed in this manner, and to advance the field of sales lead management for the benefit of their respective companies,” said McDade. Blalock added: “We pride ourselves on hiring exceptional associates and developing their skills to add maximum value to our clients … and subsequently to the broader industry."

McDade founded PointClear in 1997 to provide prospect development services to business-to-business companies. He is the author of The Truth About Leads, an insightful book that helps C-level executives focus B2B lead-generation efforts, align sales and marketing organizations and drive revenue.

In her role as COO at PointClear, Blalock helps B2B clients in technology, healthcare and business services industries improve margins and grow sales. She’s responsible for client operations—from program planning to delivery, from measurement against business objectives to reporting. In addition to being named four times to SLMA’s 50 most influential list, she’s been one of SLMA’s 20 Women to Watch for the past three years.
