The Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas is seeking Proposals from reputable firms or individuals, well established in providing attest audits as required under the City of Toronto Act Municipal Code for Business Improvement Areas Chapter 19. The proposal is for a four (4) year term.
The Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) is a non-profit umbrella organization working with the over 77 Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) within the City of Toronto who in turn represent more than 40,000 business & property owners. Generally it is the role of these BIAs to improve the economic and social wellbeing of their communities as a whole through beautification, promotion and advocacy.
All existing BIAs were established through a Municipal by-law (Chapter 19) and are operated through a Board of Management elected by the membership and appointed by City Council for the term of council. Council annually reviews and approves the BIAs projects and accompanying budget.
