Alec has been the SVP & Head of Enterprise Infrastructure at Harvard Management Company, Inc., since April 2011. He oversees technology from the desktop to the datacenter including servers, network security and vendor relations to meet the company’s diverse investment needs.
Previously, Alec was the Head of Global Infrastructure for three years at Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. LLC, one of the oldest Quantitative Trading firms where he was responsible for architecting and leading technology disciplines such as datacenter, server, storage, database, helpdesk, networking, disaster recovery and others.
Prior to GMO, Alec worked at Autonomy for four years, where he was in charge of managing datacenters in the US and Europe. He worked on building state of the art enterprise infrastructure to support ASP based hosted applications.
Alec has Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Computer Science from Boston University.

WSTA financial firm members are employed at banks, brokerages, hedge funds, insurance companies and other financial firms. The WSTA currently has about 2,300 members from over 50 different firms; 81% of the members hold senior titles such as CIOs, CTOs, Vice President, Director and Manager. The remaining 19% hold other titles such as analysts, engineers, architects, etc. The WSTA also reaches over 3,200 prospective financial firm technology professionals with information about educational and networking opportunities.

Affiliates and sponsors are an integral component of the WSTA. As a not-for-profit organization, they contribute significantly by providing the resources needed to run the educational and networking programs for WSTA financial firm members. These programs strengthen the bond between members and companies that serve the technology needs of the financial community.
