Torie & Howard natural organic candy has earned a spot on O Magazine’s coveted O List.
O Magazine’s January issue, which is on newsstands now, features Torie & Howard on Oprah’s O List with three of its sophisticated flavor combinations, said Torie Burke, company founder.
The O list features tins of three Torie & Howard natural organic hard candy flavors: Italian Tarocco Blood Orange & Wildflower Honey, California Pomegranate & Sweet Freestone Nectarine, and D’Anjou Pear & Ceylon Cinnamon, Burke said. “Sure, you might be tempted to call these organic, 12-calorie, naturally colored, corn-syrup and preservative-free candies ‘health food,’ but with flavors like California pomegranate with sweet freestone nectarine, it’s easier to just call them yum,” the magazine said.
All of the candy is USDA organic and kosher certified and contains no GMOs, preservatives, artificial dyes, casein, soy or gluten.

Burke is a well-known color consultant, and Slatkin is a renowned interior designer and author of “Fifth Avenue Style: A Designer’s New York Apartment.” The two launched Torie & Howard in 2012 out of their shared passion for good food and unique flavors as well as individual health-related events. Burke was experiencing severe food allergies, and Slatkin lost more than 100 pounds, which required both to focus on healthy eating. “We were not finding many snacks on the market that were both healthy and satisfying,” Burke said, “and we decided to use our mutual love of wonderful food to come up with our own. All of us at Torie and Howard care about natural organic products and believe they are beneficial for us and for the environment.”
