Chicago, Ill. (PRWEB) December 19, 2013
The manufacturer finalists for this year’s ARTS Awards were announced this fall and the winners will be awarded at the annual gala event during the Dallas International Home & Gift Market January 15-21.
The manufacturer finalists in the lighting fixtures category are Corbett Lighting, Currey & Company, Eurofase, Van Teal and Visual & Comfort Company – all companies who made the final cut are impressive manufacturers within the industry that offer the best in lighting design and technology.
According to dallasmarketcenter.com, nominations were open this summer and conducted completely online; anyone within the industry can nominate retailers, sales reps, exhibitors, manufacturers and industry professionals to be a part of the nominations; in September finalists determined by peer nominations were announced and with this, the selected finalists created digital presentations, which consist of product development, marketing, merchandising and company differentiation examples, to the decided judges.
This year’s panel of judges:
- Ronda Rice Carman – founder of “All the Best Blog” and author of Designers at Home: Personal Reflections on Styling Living
- Ignaz M. Gorischek – Vice President of store development at Neiman Marcus
- Dr. Nancy Kwallek – Director or the interior design program at the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin
- Kris Lindsey – previous president and COO of Kiner-Harris and product process development consultant for Paragon
- Gale C. Steves – creator of Open House Products, a home industries consulting company for retailers and manufacturers.
Judges were chosen by the Dallas Market Center and ART and within the decision process “strive to obtain an impartial judge by including panel members from all parts of the industry.”
In November the judges convened in Dallas to review the submissions and make their final decisions – once all components of judging is complete, scores are tallied and the secured scores are not revealed until January 18 at the award ceremony.
The Dallas Total Home & Gift Market is where industry professionals exhibit and peruse the latest in home accessories, gifts, furniture, lighting and so much more; it offers in total, more than 20 thousand gift and home décor product lines and is an event where peers within the lighting industry can celebrate one another for their accomplishments. Awards will be handed out to the winners in the manufacturers and retailers categories as well as winners in the Academy of Achievement award, Rising Star award and Visionary Award honorees.
According to dallasmarketcenter.com, industry members gather in Dallas for an evening of celebrations as the winners are announced and “because this is a peer-voted program, the recipients of ARTS Awards express great emotion and gratitude for the recognition.”
