Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce Shares Community Christmas Spirit in Chorus Flash Mob on Main Street

More than 100 people lend their voices to chorus that assembled in the middle of the historic downtown.

Bethlehem, PA (PRWEB) December 23, 2013

Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce announces a flash mob chorus of more than 100 people literally stopped traffic at Main and Market streets in the historic downtown Saturday night to sing the "Hallelujah Chorus" from Handel's Messiah.

Out of a bustling Main Street teeming with holiday shoppers, the chorus appeared to spontaneously assemble and grow in the middle of the street in front of the Goundie House at 505 Main St. as they sang one of the most recognizable melodies of the holiday season.

Hundreds of people—including motorists on either side of Market Street—stopped in their tracks to listen to the unexpected expression of Christmas joy: "Hallelujah!"

The singers included members of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem, numerous church choirs from around the city, the Liberty High School A Capella Choir and 1977 Liberty High School alumni, according to Lynn Collins Cunningham, a vice president for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.
