Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) February 01, 2013
Weather Analytics LLC, provider of the world’s most precise and comprehensive database on global climate intelligence, today announced the appointment of Bill Pardue, a leading information-industry entrepreneur and product visionary, as its chairman and chief executive.
Dr. John Keller, Weather Analytics founder and chief scientist, said Pardue’s track record of product leadership and management at some of the information industry’s best known companies, including LexisNexis, Gartner Inc. and The Washington Post Co., made him an ideal choice for the dual roles.
“We are launching transformational products that will deliver much-needed change in the marketplace of global weather intelligence,” Dr. Keller said. “Bill builds strategies and teams that deliver outstanding, customer-centric solutions for situational awareness and decision support, especially where geography is a key variable. Bill also knows how to create nimble, adaptable organizations that anticipate market needs and deliver excellent shareholder value -- both organically and through acquisitions. It’s a great match for where we are taking Weather Analytics.”
Pardue said the Weather Analytics appointments provide “an excellent opportunity to bring together my passion for data-driven solutions and service to markets that are embracing the science of analytics.” He said Weather Analytics will focus strongly on sectors where weather conditions and events can make a substantial difference in business results.
Pardue is the co-founder and a principal in Voyant Partners, an Alexandria, VA-based investment firm with ownership interests in Weather Analytics. As their chief executive, Pardue led the Voyant Partners acquisition and integration of three companies that in 2012 united under the “TransVoyant” brand, including ObjectFX Corp., recognized by the US Geospatial Intelligence Foundation as an industry leader in data visualization and analysis.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, Pardue previously was president & CEO of LexisNexis for its corporate and federal markets in the United States. Pardue also was chief global product officer for LexisNexis worldwide. LexisNexis created its two Internet flagship database products, lexis.com and nexis.com, under his leadership. Pardue and his team executed an M&A program that included five acquisitions to expand into new sectors, including Insurance, Investigative Financial Services and National Intelligence.
In 1999, Pardue founded the LexisNexis Risk Solutions unit, which now generates almost $1.5 billion in annual revenues. He was recruited to LexisNexis from The Washington Post, where he was director of marketing and helped lead early Internet initiatives. Pardue left LexisNexis to become president of Gartner Intelligence, an $800 million unit of the global IT research firm Gartner Inc.
Pardue spearheaded the founding in 2005 of Qbase LLC, which delivers data-analytics solutions to the U.S. Intelligence Community, civilian agencies and military services. He led Qbase’s acquisition from Nokia in 2010 of the geo-search company MetaCarta. Prior to attending law school, Pardue was a journalist with The Associated Press and other news organizations. He is a magna cum laude graduate of McNeese State University.
