Sample Express is Strouse’s rapid prototype process focused on keeping customer’s development process efficient. A total rebranding of this system has taken place and is in effect as of January 2013. This initiative includes a four-step streamlined process outlining the attention given to each custom adhesive prototype.

“Sample Express delivers a cut sample in the customer’s hands that can be test fitted or tried right away…” says Rich Burnette, Process Planning and Training Manager at Strouse.”[This] determines if the total solution is compatible with the end use.”

Sample Express has 4 simple steps:

1. Submit your idea. A concept or napkin sketch, or a complete technical drawing is submitted to our engineers through our website.

2. Talk with an engineer. A Strouse engineer will call the customer confirming details and gathering more information about the project if needed.

3. Let Strouse get to work. Design and development engineers work to ship a prototype in 48 hours or less.

4. Evaluation of the sample. Application of the prototype is then done by the customer to ensure it meets requirements and expectations. Strouse engineers will follow up with the customer to ensure any final questions are answered and discuss any next step.

“Other converters send out a roll or cut sheet of a material for the customer to test,” says Burnette. “Having a made to size part that you can fit right to the component gives you a much better assessment of the product and how it will be used. Our samples allow for a smoother transition from development to production.”
