California, Florida and Ohio are outside of the regulatory states, so their increases in health insurance rates can rise without question and that’s what they’ve done. California has raised it’s rate by 26% this week, even though a rise in health care costs doesn’t warrant it, according to the New York Times.

But, consumers in these states, and others, should take the time to re-evaluate the coverage they have to make sure they are not being overcharged for the coverage they have. By visiting HealthCompare.com, consumers can get a free health insurance quote on a policy that will let them know what they should be looking to pay for their monthly premiums.
