LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – While the Opening Ceremony for the Winter Games in 2014 is one year away in the Russian coastal city of Sochi, USA Luge announced a partnership with Ludus Tours and Russkie Prostori for a memorable seven-day excursion beginning in Moscow.
Each patron’s entire stay will be enhanced with the assistance of a tour guide and the company of Dmitry Feld, a former Russian citizen, now a long-time USA Luge staff member.
“The beauty of this trip is the way we will combine tours of historical and mysterious Russia with modern day Russia, in addition to the Winter Games,” said Feld. “This will be a complete experience for our guests, and they will talk about it for years to come.”
Visitors to Russia can begin their journey with three days in the capital city. Moscow, 900 miles north of Sochi, is one of the fastest-growing economic centers in the world. The adventure will bring you to St. Basil’s Cathedral, the Moscow Circus, the Old Arbat Walking Tour and an opportunity to dine in the former KGB headquarters.
These and other structures in the city are beautifully illuminated at night. The Moscow skyline is adorned with luxurious hotels, many upscale restaurants, hip night clubs and countless theaters and museums.
Russkie Prostori is offering economy ($1,092.30 per person) and priority packages ($2,049.06 per person) that include accommodations, dining and local travel (air fares are not included).
On days four through seven, Russkie Prostori’s guests will become Ludus Tours’ guests in order to experience the Games in the host city of Sochi. The Olympic region boasts 90 miles of beautiful coastline along the Black Sea. This is where enthusiasts can see events in the Coastal Cluster of venues which will conduct competitions in skating, hockey and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Temperatures will be milder than usual, given Sochi’s location. Sneakers and flip-flops may even be in vogue if you wish.
However, just 30 minutes north by bullet train, or 90 minutes by ground, visitors will be transported into the winter wonderland of the Caucasus Mountains, where the Mountain Cluster of venues is found.
This group of sites, at an average of 6,500 feet in elevation, will be the scene of all the skiing, snowboarding, Nordic and sliding events of luge, bobsled and skeleton.
If skiing and snowboarding fit the schedule, the modern resort of Krasnaya Polyana awaits.
The final four days of the experience is priced at $2,480 per person. It includes a hotel stay in the midst of the Sochi activities, a grand Ludus Tours welcome event, daily breakfast, a meet and greet event, private ground transfers and guided city tour.
Event tickets are extra, but will include concierge ticket services.
Consider reserving a place on this fabulous trip with a non-refundable, $250 deposit per person, by speaking directly with Dmitry Feld at 1-800-USA-LUGE, x 104.
