Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 05, 2013
Sourced Media Books and WriteStuff Writers Conferences and Workshops today announced the formation of a strategic partnership that will build upon WriteStuff Writers’ author education network and Sourced Media’s publishing platform. The partnership will provide quarterly national education summits, local author education courses, a self-publishing digital imprint, and a traditional publishing imprint for invited authors.
The new subsidiary, referred to in this release as WS Publishing, will provide (1) education and (2) superior publishing to both new and seasoned authors. WS Publishing conference courses will include writing, publishing, distribution, and marketing courses—everything an author needs to know to compete with traditionally published books.
Conference courses include but are not limited to the following:
1. Fiction writing;
2. Nonfiction “expert” writing;
3. Memoir writing;
4. Book packaging and design;
5. Editing 101;
6. Digital marketing;
7. Nuts and bolts:
8. Administrative issues;
9. Traditional vs. self-publishing;
10. National distribution: myths and facts;
11. Launching bestsellers;
12. “The medium is the message”—digital vs. paper publishing
13. Multi-media content delivery
14. Personal Branding
In addition to seminars, WS Publishing will have its own digital self-publishing imprint, offering three service tiers for authors, each ensuring well-edited, well-designed products of the highest quality. Distribution and marketing services are added for tiers two and three, respectively. WS Publishing will also have a traditional publishing imprint for invited authors whose works are believed to have significant potential in the retail marketplace.
“We are excited to partner with WriteStuff Writers because of their longstanding reputation for creating superior educational workshops and because of their commitment to provide the highest quality products and services for authors,” said Dr. Amy Osmond Cook, Publisher of Sourced Media Books. “As publishing continues to disintermediate and evolve, publishers are given the opportunity to develop strategic partnerships with authors as co-collaborators. Sourced Media shares WriteStuff Writers’ commitment to author satisfaction and superior products. We believe the philosophical alignment of our worldviews will ensure every author is provided with a great education, a great product, and a great overall experience.”
Partners include Amy Osmond Cook, Ph.D. (publisher of Sourced Media); Jon Berrett (executive producer of Yo Gabba Gabba! and The Aquabats! Super Show!); Andy Murphy (CEO of WriteStuff Writers Conferences and Workshops); and Marcia Ellett (co-owner of WriteStuff Writers Conferences and Workshops).
