ICPI announces a new Concrete Paver Installer search created for homeowners.

The intent of the service is to allow property owners and specifiers to easily find contractors with the right skills and knowledge to complete a high quality segmental concrete pavement project.

The Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) has launched a new service on its website (http://www.icpi.org) that allows property owners, specifiers and developers to request a quote from an ICPI contractor member company directly from its website. The new service was developed in an effort to promote the use of professional contractors specializing in segmental pavement construction.

“We are excited to announce this new service for homeowners and designers” said ICPI Construction Committee Chair, Chuck Taylor. “The intent of the service is to allow property owners and specifiers to easily find contractors with the right skills and knowledge to complete a high quality segmental concrete pavement project.”

The easy-to-use service can be accessed from the ICPI home page (http://www.icpi.org) by clicking on the “Find a local…Contractor” button. The system then prompts a user to search for a residential or commercial contractor either by state/province or zip code. Results will display all ICPI contractor members within the specified search criteria. A user can then select a company to view contact information and a listing of ICPI Certified Installers on staff. The user can click "Request a Quote" on the company page, fill out a short form and an email is generated and sent to the selected contractor.

ICPI strongly urges users to exercise diligence and care in the selection of any paver installer contractor or materials. ICPI recommends obtaining at least three quotes for comparison purposes and following these tips for selecting a contractor:

  • Review ICPI's Choosing the Best Pavement and the Best Installer Guide - a resource guide to interlocking concrete pavers, offers a contractor comparison checklist with suggested questions to ask.
  • Be sure your proposals meet ICPI recommended guidelines
  • Get written proposals from at least three contractors.
  • Ask for references, license (if required by state) and check with the Better Business Bureau.
  • Be sure the contractor visits the project site before providing the proposal.
  • Make sure the contractor you select uses ICPI Certified Installers to perform the work.

ICPI is the leading organization providing education and technical information on interlocking concrete pavement in North America. Membership consists of manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and contractors. ICPI sets installation guidelines for the industry. ICPI contractor members and ICPI certified installers are professionals who recognize industry standards and receive technical support and the latest industry information.

As with any significant investment, property owners and specifiers should make sure a contractor is qualified and experienced for the particular type of job. This new ICPI website service helps take out some of the guess work in selecting an interlocking concrete pavement contractor.
