“Taste Amazing” is the company’s first large-scale advertising effort

Prepare to be amazed! Peanut Butter & Co. is kicking off its first-ever national advertising campaign that invites consumers to “Taste Amazing.”

Beginning February 4, 2013, the company will air a series of three nationally broadcast commercials that encourage consumers to go beyond smooth and crunchy and to step into Peanut Butter & Co.’s exciting world of flavor. The 15-second spots build to a chorus of exclamations – OMG!, Whoa!, Wow!, Yum, and Amazing – all words that are frequently uttered when consumers taste Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butter for the first time. The commercials will air nationally on Cooking Channel and in select markets on a variety of cable networks such as ABC Family, Food Network, E!, and TLC.

The “Taste Amazing” campaign represents a significant departure from traditional peanut butter advertising, which has typically focused on the familial and nostalgic elements of peanut butter. Because adults statistically eat more peanut butter than children every day, the “Taste Amazing” campaign instead focuses on the exciting, indulgent, and unique flavor combinations of Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butter that appeal to adults and kids alike.

The campaign was created for Peanut Butter & Co. by Atlanta-based brand and creative agency Lawler Ballard Van Durand (LBVD). The agency brought to life the quirky, playful personality of the Peanut Butter & Co. brand by assembling a talented production team that is perhaps best known for their work in fashion and entertainment. The commercials were directed by Nicolas Haggard, a noted photographer and film director whose work includes campaigns for K-Swiss and Dr. Martens, and produced in concert with Los Angeles-based production company Ways & Means.

Promotional contests, coupons, and online advertising will provide additional support to the campaign, which will be fully integrated with all Peanut Butter & Co. social media channels that connect to over 100,000 superfans and followers. Social media participation will be promoted via exclusive Facebook offers and a Twitter hashtag (#tasteamazing).

The “Taste Amazing” campaign will be accompanied by a refresh of the company’s packaging, with streamlined graphics and new illustrated serving suggestions for enjoying Peanut Butter & Co. peanut butter.
