Mohonk Mountain House is excited to announce two hotel deals celebrating February, the month of love. In honor of Valentine’s Day, pamper that special someone with a trip to New Paltz, New York for a romantic getaway on the night of February 14th. Got a sweet tooth? Plan a trip around the Art of Chocolate festival February 8-10, 2013. Featuring two days of demonstrations, tastings and workshops, the event unites chefs and chocolatiers from across the Hudson Valley.

Play cupid by reserving the Valentine’s Day Special on the night of February 14th, including overnight accommodations, turndown service with chocolate-covered strawberries, a romantic dinner, live music in the evening, a bountiful breakfast, and complimentary access to many of the varied activities available at Mohonk Mountain House. Led by Chocolatier Chef Oliver Kita, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, the Art of Chocolate festival welcomes confectionary great Terry Craft, Mohonk Executive Chef Jim Palmeri, Mohonk Executive Pastry Chef Eric Smith and Mohonk Executive Sous Chef Anthony Verni for a slew of demonstrations and workshops.

Scheduled sessions include “Pairing Wine to Chocolate, a Sensory Analysis Experience,” “Chocolate Pizza – A Dessert for Chocolate Lovers,” and “Cooking Demonstration and Tasting with Chef Jim Palmeri, C.E.C.,” among others. On Saturday night enjoy a live performance by “The Chain Gang,” a five-piece band from the Hudson Valley performing a large variety of Classic Rock & Pop music from the ‘60s and ‘70s.
