For film lovers, the story behind a film is often as compelling as the film itself.

Go Social Film iPad Magazine this week released it’s first issue of the new year. The issue features five award winning international short films, along with filmmaker interviews revealing each production’s unique obstacles and struggles which ultimately lead to individual success.

“For film lovers, the story behind a film is often as compelling as the film itself. We’re pleased to present these amazing films and interviews which will no doubt encourage aspiring filmmakers around the world.” Jason Rogan, Artistic Director, Go Social Film Magazine

A unique combination of digital magazine and short film distribution platform, Go Social Film provides an immersive film viewing experience to its mobile audience on the iPad. Each month, readers are treated to a selection of short films streamed directly to their iPads, along with filmmaker interviews and behind the scenes material revealing how the films were made; all from within the pages of the magazine.

For this month’s issue, in addition to watching their films, readers will enjoy the personal stories of these five filmmakers and their films’ productions:

Jason LaMotte, director of the Irish short story adaptation, The Terms. A commercials director who self-financed his dream project to bring it to the screen, and went on to have it shown at film festivals around the world.

French director Lewis-Martin Soucy and his 10 year journey to make his Spanish comedy Talking Dog For Sale €10.

Director Robert Hloz, who traveled from his home in the Czech Republic to study film in Korea and bring his short film, Numbers, to life in the city of Seoul.

And in two remarkable examples of talent, perseverance and opportunity creating perfect storms of career altering magnitude, the stories of Kristi Simkins, director of Something Special, produced by The Lord of the Rings producer Barrie Osborne, and David Victori, Spanish director of La Culpa, the film which won him the prize of Ridley Scott as producer on his next project.

"For movies, the future (and the present) is the Internet, and platforms like Go Social Film magazine. Not only sharing amazing films from around the world, but enabling filmmakers to share their own personal stories as well." Director David Victori, "La Culpa"
