Invoke is proud to announce Michael Smit has joined the company as CEO of Invoke Media, the interactive agency that has created award-winning campaigns for brands such as NBC and AOL.
Smit comes to Invoke from Academy, the interactive marketing agency and content development studio where he was a Founder and served as Managing Director over the last five years. Smit has over 15 years of experience in Europe and North America as a strategist and creative leader of integrated digital marketing, interactive TV, mobile, social media, and retail campaigns for global brands such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Unilever, Microsoft, and Starbucks.

Smit’s arrival accompanies Invoke’s recent launch of Invoke Labs, a separate incubation company that focuses on developing products like HootSuite, the groundbreaking social media management platform that is now its own company of over 200 employees. Recent products include POS-REP, a social network for military veterans and memelabs, a social engagement platform.
With the shift toward distinct branches for the digital agency and product incubation sides of the company, having a dedicated CEO heading up Invoke Media will enable the agency to continue to grow and provide cutting-edge services to its clients.
