A CNN travel feature highlighting Belize has just made it easier for travellers to make best use of their time by listing some of the little Caribbean country’s most attractive features, according to the Lodge at Chaa Creek’s food and beverage manager.
Bryony Fleming, who also coordinates tours and packages for the popular eco resort, said that CNN writer Christopher Dawson did a good job in encapsulating some of Belize’s main attractions.
“I just read the CNN piece and thought it contained some very good advice. If someone visited places like those five spots, they’d have a pretty complete Belizean experience,” Ms Fleming said.
The CNN article, “5 Don’t Miss Spots in Belize” dated 1 February 2013 applauds Belize for its “Protected rainforests, Maya ruins, Caribbean beaches and the longest barrier reef in the western hemisphere. Add English as the official language and the widely accepted U.S. dollar, and you can get a great vacation on easy mode in Belize.”
The article then goes on to caution that, “Still, with so much to do, it can become a lot of work to fit it all in,” and lists five spots recommended by Travelzoo editor Andrew Young; The Blue Hole, Ambergris Caye, the Maya ruins of Lamanai, Caves Branch River tubing and the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.
Ms Fleming said that while the list barely scratches the surface of things to do in Belize, visiting a combination of places like those CNN picked would result in a comprehensive Belizean experience and, given Belize’s small size and ease of getting around, it can all be accomplished in one holiday.
“Even with adding some of the other favourite Maya temples and archaeology sites to the list, especially my personal favourites like Xunantunich and Cahal Pech, it’s still very doable, and in a very relaxed manner,” she said.
“For example, with Rainforest to Reef deals, one of Chaa Creek’s affordable all-inclusive Belize vacation packages, we pick you up at the Belize International Airport, and then you can visit the Maya temples and sites while enjoying horseback riding, mountain biking, canoeing , hiking, swimming or just relaxing in our 365 acre private rainforest reserve.
And now, with flights leaving virtually from our front door straight to Ambergris Caye, we get you to one of our sister resorts where the Belize Great Barrier Reef, the Blue Hole and a whole range of Caribbean sea experiences are handy in one short hop.
“We can easily get you to all the spots listed in the CNN article, or better yet, help you plan an itinerary suited exactly to your personal interests. And with all accommodation, activities, meals, transfers and even staff gratuities and government taxes included, there are no hidden costs or hassles involved. Everything’s taken care of so fitting it all in is easy and actually enjoyable,” Ms Fleming said.
