Today Course Hero, a provider of online education tools, announced its latest achievement in building a knowledge marketplace by opening up its Tutoring platform for any expert to monetize their skills.
Course Hero now invites anyone with subject matter expertise to become a Course Hero Tutor and charge for their services, one question at a time. Recognizing that the relationship between student and expert continues to evolve, Course Hero seeks to create an environment where students and experts can consume and provide knowledge at their own pace.
Course Hero believes that in order for a learning system to be sustainable, it must benefit both the student and the educator. Forty-five newly approved tutors join the band of two hundred and ninety seven previously existing, highly qualified and experienced digital tutors on CourseHero.com to help students in such subject areas as English, Math, Engineering, Finance and Computer Science. Unlike traditional tutors, who may be tied to office hours or standard work schedules, these tutors are available around the clock to make difficult concepts easy and understandable. Likewise, Course Hero Tutors aren’t locked into a weekly schedule and can contribute as much time as their current availability allows.

In 2010, Course Hero made online access to tutors readily available for its users. Recognizing a greater market need for expert assistance, the company acquired Cardinal Scholars, an in-person tutoring business, in July of 2012. With this latest addition to the tutoring platform, Course Hero is responding to the need to enhance the in-person expertise students receive in school or at home with Course Hero’s online offerings.
