http://www.digifilmstudios.com Downsizing has affected many industries. Florida based Digi-Film Studios was formed to provide a solution to advertising agencies, the film and music industries, and even publishers whose creative departments have had to trim the employee count just to keep the doors open.

Digi-Film Studios provides computer-generated imagery and memorable characters for animated films, video games, web development and brand identity.

“Outsourcing has become an accepted part of doing business,” explained Lauren Sanks, Creative and Technical Director. “It’s easy to hire a contractor for book keeping, or sales, even a fractional CEO, but quality animators and sound technicians have refined skills. They’re not on every corner, I can tell you that.”

The face of companies that have had to downsize has changed. It’s not just the local retail stores, it’s corporations and the American film industry has not been immune. From Canada’s low production costs to India’s minimal labor rates, the broadcast and film industries have made the choice to subcontract business overseas.

Advertising agencies have resorted to using contractors from websites with graphics and animators abroad who’ll work for $4.00 an hour.

“We wanted to put integrity back into the field and offer an alternative for high quality services. It’s important to us to keep the money here and contribute back to our own economy,” said Sanks.

Rather than a one-off contractor, the company takes a team approach. For clients who seek a mascot to carry their brand, the Digi-Film Studios crew develops a prototype based on strategy and longevity.

The mascot they chose for their own brand is Kool Kat. Because a large percentage of their business comes from the video game industry, they wanted a family-friendly image.

“Kool Kat’s job is to be the recognizable brand for Digi-Film Studios, but that’s not all,” said Sanks. “Kool Kat is responsible for conveying a positive message, and reminding kids that learning is Cool, that being kind to others is Cool, and that being one’s self is Cool.”

Kool Kat is also used to showcase the company’s abilities to incorporate a customized character in various ways, from packaging, to story-books, video games and in film.

“We create graphics and animation solutions for everything from a cereal box to the next animated block buster. Our goal is to be THE resource for film studios and companies who need memorable character branding,” Sanks said.

Digi-Film Studios also offers recording services and creates customized sound tracks to use in conjunction with the animated characters they develop, or as stand-alone sound tracks and jingles. http://www.music.digi-filmz.com/
