Cost.co.uk Responds to Survey that Reveals 1 in 4 Brits Travel without Holiday Insurance

Leading price comparison site, Cost.co.uk, has responded to a recent survey that reveals 1 in 4 British people don’t take out holiday insurance when they travel.

According to figures released by ABTA, 1 in 4 Brits are now travelling abroad without insurance, with many thinking it’s too expensive or are confused about what is already covered.

The research revealed that 24% of travellers do not buy holiday insurance, up from 20% last year. Men and those in the 18-24 age group are the most unlikely to buy insurance, with only 52% of young travellers thought to be covered when they travel. 31% said they thought insurance was too expensive.

The research also revealed that 1 in 10 Brits do not check the details of their policy and 65% of Brits staying in the UK do not take out insurance.
