Lawdragon CEO and Founder Katrina Dewey will take part in an all-star panel on the controversial new confidential arbitration system in Delaware's Court of Chancery. The discussion, titled "Secret Courts?", will take place in the moot court room of the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law on Feb. 7, from 6:30-8:30pm.

Katrina Dewey, the founder and CEO of legal news and information company, will be featured in "Secret Courts? The Delaware Court of Chancery Arbitration Experiment," an expert panel that will discuss a controversial new court program that allows sitting judges of the Chancery to confidentially arbitrate disputes between companies.

The event will be held Feb. 7 from 6:30-8:30pm in the moot court room of the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, located at 55 Fifth Avenue in New York, and will include a reception following the discussion. The Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution is sponsoring the program, which is open for registration.

Some observers have praised the Court of Chancery's arbitration program as innovative while others have said it blurs the line between litigation and arbitration. The Delaware Open Government Coalition has filed a legal challenge to the program.

Dewey is an award-winning journalist and former lawyer who founded Lawdragon in 2005. For this discussion, she joins an all-star panel that includes Thomas E. Carbonneau, Penn State University Dickinson School of Law; David L. Finger, counsel for the Delaware Open Government Coalition; Tracey B. Frisch, Staff Attorney at the American Arbitration Association; and Hon. Shirley Werner Kornreich, Justice of the New York State Supreme Court. Paul F. Kirgis of St. John's University School of Law will serve as moderator.
