CradlePoint, the global leader in 3G/4G wireless networking solutions for distributed enterprises, today announced the appointment of Mike Myer, group vice president of development at Oracle and former CTO of RightNow, the industry leading cloud-based customer experience solution, to its Board of Directors.
“I am excited to have Mike joining our board of directors,” said George Mulhern, CradlePoint CEO and chairman of the board. “Mike has a distinguished career as a technology leader and innovator. We will greatly benefit from his insights and expertise at the intersection of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), telecommunications and enterprise networking. In particular, Mike’s expertise will benefit the development of CradlePoint’s cloud-based management platform, WiPipe Central, which is used for the dynamic management and enhanced intelligence of enterprise networks.”
Myer led product design and development efforts at RightNow Technologies beginning in 1998. With his guidance and strategic insights, RightNow grew from a small startup to an industry leader with a robust set of cloud customer experience solutions. In 2011, Oracle acquired RightNow Technologies for $1.5 billion. Before joining RightNow, Myer helped architect networking and telecommunications breakthroughs at Bell Labs Research, Lucent Technologies, and AT&T.
“CradlePoint has a tremendous opportunity to build on their 4G networking leadership with innovative technology to solve customer problems in an emerging market,” said Myer. “I look forward to helping the CradlePoint team develop WiPipe Central into the premier cloud-based network management application platform for distributed enterprises to deploy, manage, and enhance the intelligence of their networks.”
With the appointment of Myer, CradlePoint’s board now consists of six members, including Rick Belluzzo, former president and COO of Microsoft; Alan Hall, managing director of Mercato Partners and founder of MarketStar; Gerry Langeler, managing director at OVP Venture Partners and founder of Mentor Graphics; George Mulhern, CradlePoint CEO and chairman of the board; and Jim Straight, former senior vice president at Verizon Communications.
