Conditional Rebate promotions motivate customers to make a purchase because they know there is a chance to win their money back if a specific sports or weather event occurs. - Chris Hamman, SCA Promotions Vice President

Jacoby Jones’ electrifying 108 yard kickoff return that started the second half of the Super Bowl was just one of many spectacular plays on the biggest stage in sports. To some lucky shoppers, the Baltimore Ravens’ touchdown was as good as gold. Jones’ touchdown earned shoppers across America full cash rebates on some of their recent purchases. In conjunction with SCA Promotions, many companies ran conditional rebate contests leading up to the Super Bowl, offering various prizes if a specified event occurred in the game, such as an opening kickoff being returned for a touchdown. These companies are now being awarded more than $290,000 collectively, paid by SCA Promotions.
For Furniture Mart, in Fort Morgan, Colo., that means rebating all furniture purchased between Jan. 25-26, thanks to the opening kickoff of the second half being run back for a touchdown. Once Jones ran into the end zone for only the ninth time in Super Bowl history, SCA Promotions began the process of cutting a check for more than $122,000 so that Furniture Mart can refund their customers who made a qualifying purchase on those days.
New Mexico-based Baillio’s appliance and electronics store hosted the same conditional rebate contest, which awarded the purchase price of select televisions to customers who bought during the promotion period. More than $100,000 in television purchases is being rebated for Baillio’s customers. Thanks to the conditional rebate promotion, the retailer has received invaluable media exposure and customers are anxiously awaiting a check presentation party where they will claim their redemption checks.
“SCA Promotions is very pleased to be a part of all the excitement. Conditional Rebate promotions motivate customers to make a purchase because they know there is a chance to win their money back if a specific sports or weather event occurs. Businesses can offer incredible prizes without the worry and financial risk of rebating all their customers’ purchases,” said Chris Hamman, SCA Promotions Vice President. ”These promotions not only absolve them of the financial risk but also generate incredible media coverage.”
Other SCA Promotions payouts for the kickoff return include $50,000 to a radio station, $10,000 to the Rose Haven Civic Association and another $10,000 to Club O in Harvey, Illinois.
