This month, 959 Lowe's stores will begin carrying the ChoiceDek® Foundations™ speed rail system – a composite material interpretation of classic wood deck speed railing. ChoiceDek has even enhanced the buying experience a step further by prepackaging kits to make it easier for buyers to determine exact quantities needed. With the new speed rail system, homeowners and carpenters planning to build a deck this spring or summer now have access to easy-to-use, attractive, durable and environmentally conscious composite railing components. http://choicedek.com

"Carpenters for years have used classic 2x4 wood railing systems. Now ChoiceDek is offering homeowners and building pros the same simplicity in a more durable composite railing system," said Brent Gwatney, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for ChoiceDek decking products.

The prepackaged kits will make it easier for buyers to complete a full six-foot section of their deck railing. For one six foot section they will simply need:

  • 1 Speed Rail Kit (includes 3 six-foot rails)
  • 1 Baluster Kit (includes 14 balusters)
  • 2 post sleeves, post caps and post collars (packaged individually)

The availability of a speed rail system in a composite line also gives deck builders exceptional design flexibility. All components in the ChoiceDek Foundations line are available in 3 colors: Beach House Gray, Harvest Brown and Coastal Redwood. Most of the line's components also boast a realistic, embossed wood-grain texture, which gives the finished deck a wood-like appearance in an attractive and durable composite material. True to its name, the ChoiceDek speed rail system does not require staining or painting, making its installation fast and easy.

ChoiceDek Foundations is manufactured with advanced technology to resist stains, mold and mildew. Due to their exceptional moisture and insect resistance, Foundations products can be installed on the ground, in the ground or even underwater without voiding the warranty. The products are composed of 95% total recycled content, keeping pre and post-consumer plastic materials such as packaging films and shopping bags from ending up in landfills.
