Yumi Media responds to an article in the New York Daily News on the benefits of vegetarianism and tips to adopting it.

On February 7, Yumi Media reacts to an article published in the New York Daily News about the health benefits of vegetarianism and ways to convert to it, such as using meal-substitute products provided by companies like Quorn.

According to the New York Daily News article, “Is going vegetarian really better for you? The pros and cons of meatless eating,” by Tracy Miller, “In terms of heart health, there are a couple of reasons why vegetarian diets could be very healthy,” nutritionist Lisa Young, Ph.D., R.D. said in the article. “Meat and cheese are high in saturated fat, an eliminating that is a good thing for your heart.” A vegetarian diet promotes a healthier lifestyle, but it isn’t a solution for weight loss, Miller wrote.

Additionally, Young believes that non-vegetarians can eat meat and still have a healthier lifestyle, Miller wrote. “The heart healthy way to be a meat eater is moderation,” Young says in the article. “Stick to a palm-sized serving and add more vegetables.”

Yumi Media recognizes that meal choices are essential to a healthy lifestyle and says, “Nutrition is quintessential to nurturing one’s health and is the key to improving it.” Yumi Media adds, “Vegetarians are at an advantage because they consume vegetables constantly, but for people interested in adopting healthier habits or turning to vegetarianism, companies like Quorn provide meal substitutes that are healthy and delicious.”
