Every year the state of Indiana holds the Statewide Machines Trade Contest, hosted by Vincennes University. Over eleven schools throughout Indiana attended this year’s competition, with many young adults competing in several manufacturing categories for prizes.

"The competition is great for education in manufacturing, as it gets schools and students involved in a great industry," said Kevin Hughes who is a Senior Educational Representative for the "Manufacturers of The Future" program at BobCAD-CAM, Inc.

BobCAD-CAM sponsored the event again this year for the third year in a row, by providing computer aided design and manufacturing software as prizes for the winning group. This year the first, second, and third place overall winners in the CNC Division, as well as the first place overall winner in the Advanced Division all received high powered CNC machining software.

By providing 12 seats of advanced BobCAD-CAM CNC programming software to the top winners in the competition, BobCAD-CAM continues to show support for schools that prepare students for entering the manufacturing sector.

Kevin Hughes continued, “These students are the future of American manufacturing, and the contest fully aligns with our Manufacturers of the Future campaigns to support education, and we wanted to make sure that these students are prepared when they’re ready to enter the workforce.”

The “Manufacturers of the Future” campaign supports all schools throughout the country that teach design and CNC Programming by providing cutting edge CAD-CAM software, training and other educational resources to help schools create great curriculums that are built for student success. This program is for schools at all levels; high schools and up, including trade schools offering special CNC related curriculums.

Teachers can contact BobCAD-CAM to receive a free license of their complete 2D & 3D CAD-CAM software at no cost. BobCAD-CAM also offers help and training on the software for schools and teachers so they are fully equipped to work in the program with their students.
