Free online class, “Social Media Marketing for Beginners. Popular Stanford Course covers best practices, examples and tips on effective social media marketing.

Social media marketing is essential to the success of any effective business or nonprofit organization, enabling both to connect with customers in new, and hitherto unimagined, ways.

New Venture Marketing, a Palo Alto digital strategy firm, today announced that its introductory course, “Social Media Marketing for Beginners,” is now available for free online. The highly popular Stanford University Continuing Studies Program (CSP) class is taught by Robin D. Stavisky, Managing Partner, New Venture Marketing.

The course is offered free of charge on Social Media Marketing for Beginners on Youtube, Playlist 2, and was first taught at the Stanford University Continuing Studies Program in the Fall Quarter of 2012. The free online version of the course provides videos of all the classes that were originally presented at Stanford, giving online learners from across the country and around the world an inside look at the impact of new social media tools and their application in marketing.

The presentations provide an insider’s look under the radar at the transformation in social media marketing as more users shift from PCs to mobile devices. They enable students to understand new techniques and best practices in Social Media Marketing and discover how to engage with their markets and create meaningful content across new social tools and applications.
