Perth, WA (PRWEB) February 07, 2013
Pablo Rodriguez Pina, founder and co-director of the Perth (Australia) based software company Anahata Technologies Pty Ltd announced it is working on a Java and JavaFX library to use cloud based document storage services such as Google Drive, DropBox or Amazon S3 as Document Management Systems for Java applications.
- The library consists of an
- An Object Oriented wrapper for Google Drive REST based SDK.
- A change control API to reduce the number of calls between the client and the cloud storage provider.
- A pluggable mirror API to define and add storage mirrors.
- A JavaFX 2.2 interface.
The pluggable mirror API can be used in cases when a google drive client such as SyncDocs or the official Google Drive Client is being installed on a server in the local network and is accessible via network share.
The library originated from a custom built Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) development project for a local business and the company has outlined the roadmap to make it available to the general public.
Stage 1 - The library, which is currently a subset of the company’s general purpose anahata-util library will be extracted onto it’s own library and a comprehensive set of unit tests will be added.
Stage 2 - License the library under an Open Source license such as the Apache Software License (ASF) with Google Drive support.
Stage 3 - Refactor the library to allow for additional cloud based storage providers such as SkyDrive, DropBox and Amazon S3.
