Tinnitus Awareness Week runs from February 4 – 10 this year and Hidden Hearing is raising awareness by releasing an infographic all about Tinnitus.
Tinnitus affects one in ten people in the UK, and symptoms consist of a constant ringing, whistling or buzzing in the ears when there is no external noise causing it. It can cause a great deal of stress for sufferers, with 50% of people with Tinnitus finding it difficult to sleep.
Tinnitus is still not completely understood and there is currently no cure for the condition, but there are ways to ease the condition such as relaxation and background noise.
A spokesperson from Hidden Hearing said:
“Tinnitus is a common condition, with celebrities such as Chris Martin and Pete Townsend as notable sufferers. There needs to be much more research into tinnitus to help us understand how to treat this condition and help those that experience it. We hope this infographic highlights some important information about Tinnitus and makes people more aware.”
