Ecommerce retailers should embrace these changes to ensure a smooth transition, because they contribute to a progressive online experience for shoppers.

Lincoln, Lincolnshire (PRWEB UK) 9 February 2013

SEO Traffic Lab, UK SEO Consultancy responded to Google’s impending changes to UK Google Shopping due to take place later this week. The digital marketing consultancy, specialists in Ecommerce SEO recognise the positive impact of the developments for online merchants.

UK online merchants that participate in the new paid-for-inclusion model will benefit from participation in Google’s Trusted Stores programme. US retailers currently benefiting from this performance badge have experienced increased customer confidence, resulting in increases in sales, average order size and conversion rates. The scheme allows participating merchants to display the Google Trusted Store badge on their website and product listings.

For the discerning online shopper, the programme helps to identify stores to buy from that offer free purchase protection and ultimately an enhanced customer service experience. This offers shoppers the reassurance that if an issue arises, if they are unable to resolve a dispute with a retailer directly then via a Google Trusted Stores customer account, any issues can be logged within 60 days of placing an order. Google can then contact the store on the consumer’s behalf to resolve the issue and ultimately determine a resolution. The outcome of which may be a full refund or the order or item replacement.

Parallels have been made with Amazon Prime and Ebay’s Buyer Protection scheme that promotes customer reassurance about online transactions. Following Google’s announcement that the UK would emulate the US’s paid for inclusion model, the consultancy responded with a video blog and two blogs to provide updates about the latest changes for its clients.

As leading SEO Ecommerce strategists, SEO Traffic Lab is excited about the positive impact of these developments for its existing client base. Technical Manager, Andy Birkitt commented “Ecommerce retailers should embrace these changes to ensure a smooth transition, because they contribute to a progressive online experience for shoppers.”
