Stephen Smith, Executive Director at The Harvest Center, a non-profit organization in Charlotte, NC, announced he will be leaving the organization in March for a new opportunity with Charlotte Family Housing.
Smith joined the Harvest Center in December 2010 after working in Charlotte’s Financial Services Industry for several years. As Executive Director of The Harvest Center, Smith worked with its staff, volunteers and Board of Directors, to operate on a $1.5 million budget serving hot meals, distributing food and clothing, provide housing and offering transformational and educational programs to the low income and homeless residents of Mecklenburg County.
Charlotte Family Housing is a shelter-to-housing program for homeless families. By focusing on families’ strengths, they help lead them toward a self-sufficient lifestyle. Their model strives to produce healthy, deep, measurable and lasting change.
The Harvest Center and Charlotte Family Housing have partnered in order to avoid the duplication of services already present in the community. The Directors of both organizations look forward to continuing this partnership.
The Harvest Center is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization. Their mission is to create an environment where Jesus Christ transforms members of the community to full and productive lives by providing food, clothing, housing, education, counseling and recovery services.
