Whether it is used in upholstery on a lounge chair or detail on accent pillows, a touch of animal print done tastefully brings life to the modern home. Now, IndusParquet, worldwide leader in original Brazilian Exotic Hardwood flooring, launches its Pau Ferro smooth engineered hardwood profile featuring bold striations in its natural grain reminiscent of jungle cats—crafted to inspire your wild side.

The smooth engineered Pau Ferro profile is anything but tame; in fact the Brazilian species is often referred to as a leopardtree due to its distinctive and unique grain pattern. With a multi-ply construction of 100 percent hardwood, the top layer is cut to capture detailed grains and textures to bring the exotic beauty of South America to homes with practical affordability and rugged durability. This new profile is offered in an extra wide 6 1/4” plank for maximum grain exposure. Its random plank lengths of 11 to 88 inches give the flooring a custom look.

“Animal print has seen resurgence in popularity over the past few years being used in unexpected and inspired places,” said Jason Strong, IndusParquet vice president of sales and marketing. “What we have been able to achieve through our exclusive construction and finishing techniques is a floor that captures both the beauty of nature and your imagination.”

The Pau Ferro profile will be available at fine flooring showrooms nationwide this spring and features IndusParquet proprietary manufacturing processes including:

  • ClearVue™, a colorless, crystal clear finish that helps ensure lasting durability and beauty
  • Breathe™, a proprietary natural wood drying process that addresses the unique characteristics of each wood species by giving the wood required time to dry in a fresh air environment where it can breathe and relax—locking in its beauty and strength
  • INDURO™, an advanced, aluminum-oxide formulation where crystals are embedded as part of the nine-coat process delivering unprecedented scratch and abrasion resistance
  • LONGLENGTH™, a process where hardwood floors are milled in random short, medium and long length planks for prime variety
