Upper Providence Township, PA has a 1987 Mack Baker Arielscope fire truck for auction on the online government auctions site Municibid.com. The bidding began on January 30 and will close on February 13. With the help of Municibid, Upper Providence Township hopes to put significant non-tax revenue back into its budget at no cost.

Since launching in 2006, Municibid has revolutionized government auctions, increasing both their scope and profitability. Now that municipalities can reach a nationwide audience, surplus items can be sold at competitive prices with the opportunity to generate considerably more revenue than would otherwise be possible. Municibid Founder and CEO Greg Berry said, “Taxpayer demand and tightened budgets require government agencies to look for new ways of increasing non-tax revenue. Municibid is an easy way to achieve this and at no cost to the agency.” Berry added “Auction items will reach a much broader, national audience of competing bidders, leading to better net results.”
