Smart phones fans love when next generation phones hit the market. Those who may recall Apple’s iPhone5 sold very well, but Windows popularity is not far behind. In fact, with more flavors available for Windows products, it is no surprise that smart phone lovers have their hands full when trying to decide on a new phone. Protect Your Bubble, mobile phone insurance company, has looked at one of the newest phones, the HTC 8X.

1. Build and design
Its only 10.12mm thick so the 8X is much more slender than the OneX at 8.9mm, but at 130g it is as heavy as the HTC primary Android device. Colours range from California Blue, Graphite Black, Flame Read and Limelight Yellow, it looks more like the Nokia Lumia 920 than the One Series of HTC.

2. Screen
A substantial 4.3-inch LCD 2 HD touchscreen with 1280 x 720p resolution, expect 720p HD video and images. Gorilla Glass keeps the screen from all but the most severe damage. Glare is not much of an issue either; optical lamination is featured for web browsing or watching video.

3. Camera
It has an industry standard 8MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. But all these match nicely to the f/2.0 aperture and 28mm lens for pictures of quality in low-light conditions. A dedicated chip, Image Chip, helps with snaps and focus speed and 1080 HD recording in stereo sound covers mobile movies quite well.
Video and chat is easy with a 2.1MP front-face camera with full HD video possibility. A f/2.0 aperture with ultra-wide lends and Image Chip makes the front camera one of the best on the market today.

4. Beats Audio
A partnership with HTC and Beats, built-in amplifiers and speaker delivers superior sound and the 3.5mm jack supports most headphones, only if the ones in the box are not up to personal tastes.

5. Battery and processor
Qualcomm’s S4 1.5GHz dual-core processor runs this phone, and it is the same processor in the 8S and the Nokia Lumia 920. A full GB of RAM is perfect for the multitasking, and the 1,800 mAh battery is enough to carry most users through a full day of usage.

The HTC Windows phone 8X is available on most networks and is priced around £399 sim-free. For a significant mobile investment like this mobile phone insurance should be considered.
